Extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) Announced for El Salvador

On July 8, 2016, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced that it was extending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for eligible citizens of El Salvador. Individuals from El Salvador who currently have TPS must re-register for TPS between July 8, 2016 and September 6, 2016. Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) for these individuals have been automatically extended until March 9, 2017.
