Conozca sus Derechos / Know Your Rights
/Con todos los nuevos rumores de redadas de inmigración de ICE, CONOZCA SUS DERECHOS:
- Quédese en silencio, o dígale al agente de ICE que usted quiere permanecer en silencio.
- Pida hablar con un abogado.
- No carge con documentos falsos.
- Lleve una tarjeta de “conozca sus derechos” (ver más abajo)
- Encuentre el nombre y número de teléfono de un abogado de inmigración confiable y carge esta información con usted en todos momentos.
- Conozca su “número de registro de extranjero” (número “A”) si tiene uno, y escríbalo en algún lugar de la casa donde miembros de su familia sepan donde encontrarlo.
- Prepare un formulario o documento que autorize a otro adulto a cuidar de sus hijos menores de edad.
- Aconseje a sus miembros de familia que no se dejen ser interrogados por ICE para que se mantengan alejados del lugar donde se produjo la redada o donde se retiene a una persona detenida.
- No firme ningún documento sin hablar con un abogado de inmigración primero.
With all these new rumors of ICE immigration raids KNOW YOUR RIGHTS:
- Remain silent, or tell the ICE agent that they want to remain silent.
- Ask to speak with a lawyer.
- Do not carry false documents.
- Carry a “know your rights” card (see below)
- Find out the name and phone number of a reliable immigration attorney and keep this information with them at all times.
- Know your “alien registration number” (“A” number) if you have one, and write it down someplace at home where your family members know where to find it.
- Prepare a form or document that authorizes another adult to care for their minor children.
- Advise family members who do not want to be questioned by ICE to stay away from the place where the raid occurred or where a detained person is being held.
- Do not sign any documents without first speaking with a lawyer.
